Under the auspices of His excellency, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and under the supervision of the Dean of Dijlah University College, Prof. Dr. Saeed Abdul-ALHadi Al-Marhej, Dijlah University College holds the Fourth Annual International Scientific Conference under the title ” The Sustainable Development in Light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution” on 17-19 October 2022
Dijlah University College
Dijlah University College is a private academic institution for academic education of public interest. It was established in Baghdad under the order issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. (3322) on 10/27/204 in accordance with the amended Law of Establishment of Private Colleges and Universities (13) in 1996.
The college accepts graduates of the preparatory study in its branches: scientific, literary, commercial, industrial, and graduates of institutes. The semester system is followed in the study for the specializations of the: Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Financial and Banking Sciences, administration and accounting departments. While the annual system for the specializations of the: Dentistry, Pathological Analyzes, Optics, Computer Technology Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering, Law, Media, the English Language, and Arabic language departments. A bachelor’s degree is awarded in the specializations of all scientific and humanities departments of the college.
Dijla University College seeks to provide its educational services using scientific methods, modern technology, and its curricula to keep pace with the latest global developments, besides their applications and repercussions on society. It aims to provide students with the necessary information in all scientific, educational and research fields. These objectives will be achieved by its continuous communication between the university and the community, along with the goals of economic and social development in Iraq. The college includes distinguished academic staff in its scientific endeavors, research capabilities, and international presence. The college seeks to develop its staff, by making partnership agreements with some prestigious international universities, and providing an appropriate scientific environment. In the field of infrastructure development, investment has been made to establish a distinguished academic complex in the city center of Baghdad to become a scientific edifice ahead of its peers from other colleges.
The Conference Objectives
The Fourth Industrial Revolution is a designation launched by the Higher Economic Forum in Davos / Switzerland in 2016, for the last link in a series of industrial revolutions, the first of which began in the late eighteenth century. This revolution brought great changes in the lives of societies. The Fourth Industrial Revolution was characterized by the penetration of emerging technology in a number of fields, including: robotics, artificial intelligence, blockchain, nanotechnology, governance computing, biotechnology, Internet of things, virtual worlds, 3D printing…etc. The fourth wave of the Industrial Revolution is expected to witness intensive implementation of many emerging technologies with high potentials.
For the important role of these technologies in promoting the sustainable development of global economies, in general, and emerging economies, in particular, this conference came to shed light on that role, as it aims to:
Learn about all the technological applications provided by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, whether in the medical or engineering fields, and the pure sciences or social and humanities.
Explain the role of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in promoting the expansion of the social communication system, reduce underdevelopment rates in all its fields, create business incubators that provide job opportunities for the community to reduce the negative effects of unemployment, and reduce barriers to entrepreneurship to create new markets.
Show the interactive relationship between sustainable development and the software aspects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its effects on the life of the individual and society.
Direct to the Effective methods and tools in the wave of cybersecurity risks resulting from the possibilities of data penetration and tampering with negative effects in society, such as: inequality in the availability of job opportunities among members of society.
Clarify the role of sustainable development in light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in developing the means of learning and teaching.
